Question is - can anyone provide tips/links in doing the migration E.g. His last Mac was an old PowerMac still on MacOS 8.6.
I am assuming that the path to the master files will change, however much I try & keep the naming the same, so key question. Hi folks, I'm off to help setup a PC for my father in law, after many years of using Macs. I have no idea if the RAID system will automatically work with the PC, or whether it will have to be reset & reformatted. Click the From a Mac, Time Machine, or Startup Disk, the click Continue. Eventually you’ll see the first window of the process.
Click Continue and your current user account will log out. I will install a Windows 10 PC next week & my intention is to simply copy the LR catalogue to the internal hard disk on the PC & plug in the external RAID to the thunderbolt port on the PC motherboard. Then, in the Finder, head to Applications > Utilities. (I have played with editing, but it is still far too restrictive.) I sync my entire library to the cloud, which I use on mobile devices for reference. It may be in the future that I trust Adobe to store & manage my master files, but not yet. I currently use an iMac where the LR Catalogue is on the internal disk & all the master image files are stored in an external RAID system (thunderbolt). Transfer Data from a Mac to a PC using an External Hard Drive If you have a Mac hard drive that isn’t functioning well, you can send the files to an external drive.
#MIGRATE FROM MAC TO PC HOW TO#
My question is, how to I best prepare to move my entire system. This is because there are simply too many unexplained performance issues.
